LY Corp. Researchers’ Workshop Proposal Accepted by ICCV 2025 - Creating a global forum focused on “foundation data” — a rare case of a workshop led by Japanese researchers
We are pleased to announce that the workshop proposal "Foundation Data for Vision: Challenges and Opportunities (external link)", organized by LY Corp. employees Shunsuke Kitada and Tatsuya Komatsu, has been accepted to the International Conference on Computer Vision 2025 (ICCV2025) (external link), a flagship conference in the field of computer vision.
ICCV is widely recognized as one of the top-tier conferences in artificial intelligence and computer vision research. It is relatively rare for workshops led by Japanese researchers to be accepted, making this a significant example of Japan-based research and industrial efforts being recognized on an international stage.
This workshop focuses on data, which plays a crucial role in the development of rapidly advancing foundation models. It aims to foster international discussions across academia and industry on the following key topics:
- ●Methodologies for constructing large-scale and robust datasets
- ●Designing datasets with considerations for fairness, diversity, and ethics
- ●Novel research approaches based on data–model interactions
- ●Potential for applying real-world datasets in industrial contexts
Through this initiative, the workshop aims to present new directions for addressing the global challenges surrounding data.
